Reseña de la joyería de la Colección Heart de Artemis Classic x KAMIJO

Hice mi pedido la segunda semana después de que anunciaron la recepción de órdenes de la joyería. Fue difícil decidir cuál de los productos comprar, pero al final me decidí por lo plateado y rojo. Algunas de éstas piezas fueron compradas por otros fans (hicimos un pedido en grupo) pero me dejaron usar las fotografías, probarme y usar la joyería. Fue difícil esperar 3 meses para que hicieran todas las piezas y se procesara la orden. También fue angustiante que las mandaran durante la época de prisas navideñas en USA porque es cuando se pueden perder muchas cosas.

El empaque es excepcional! La mayoría de las piezas llegaron en cajas con forma de ataúd. Otras piezas llegaron en bolsas que también les mostraré. Cada artículo incluye una bolsa de regalo de Artemis Classic por si lo quieres regalar a alguien más. El paquete incluía una bolsa grande para colocar dentro las pequeñas. Era un paquete grande para pocas piezas pequeñas. También incluyeron un catálogo de otros diseños de Artemis Classic y colaboraciones. En el que recibí pueden ver en la portada a Sharon den Adel de Within Temptation.

Las cajas tienen un acolchado cubierto de terciopelo con un espacio especial para colocar los anillos así.

Es especialmente bonito si quieres colocar la joyería en una caja de cristal o en una vitrina!

Este es el anillo Thorn (espina) – daré más detalles más adelante.

Con cada pieza también se incluye un certificado de Pedigree (como si cada pieza estuviera viva y consiente de si misma) firmado por KAMIJO. Tengo una historia divertida acerca de ésta pieza.

Estas son las bolsas en las que venían el botón y el broche de emblema.

Este es el dije Crystal of Aestheticism. No incluye cadena así que lo uso con la cadena Neck Bite de onix facetado que compré con el emblema de cruz, o con la cadena que viene con mi dije del emblema de Versailles. Por supuesto también se puede usar con cualquier cadena de plata o una cinta. Este lo compré para usarlo en el trabajo porque es lindo para usarlo diariamente. El emblema de cruz confundió a uno de mis pacientes que me preguntó si era una “Cruz satánica” así que decidí dejar de usarlo en el trabajo.

Mi historia graciosa tal vez no tiene mucho sentido si no es en inglés. Le mostré el dije a un miembro de mi familia y le dije que se llamaba “Crystal of Aestheticism”(Cristal del esteticismo). Él me escuchó mal y dijo “Crystal of Athleticism” (Cristal del atletismo) y preguntó si se suponía que me iba a hacer brincar más alto o correr más rápido! Le contesté que no, que era “Aestheticism” (esteticismo) pero me volvió a entender mal, entendió “Asceticism” (ascetismo). Y yo pensé, “No, no, es la palabra equivocada otra vez!” *Ascetismo se refiere a un “estilo de vida caracterizado por la abstinencia de placeres mundanos” – algo opuesto a la intención de esta joyería lujosa y hermosamente rococó.

Noten que el brazalete Rose Croix tiene un mecanismo para abrocharlo con un corazón al final. Estaba preocupada por el broche. El extremo se sujeta deslizándolo a través del aro en forma de corazón al otro lado. Me preocupaba que se zafara al moverlo, pero lo he probado usándolo mucho y también en un club de baile por varias horas. Parece que no se puede zafar accidentalmente, por lo menos no fácilmente. Estoy impresionada!

El diseño hace que tu muñeca se vea como si hubiera sido mordida!

Me sorprendió que está “abierto”!

No es un círculo completo así que se puede ajustar un poco el tamaño.

Vista de lado

Realmente parecen tallos de rosa con espinas enredadas alrededor del dedo.

Para comparar, tomé una foto junto a mi anillo Rose de Versailles. El trabajo con los tallos y las espinas lo hace más grande y tiene una forma de gancho. Estaba preocupada porque se pudiera enredar en mi cabello y ropa cuando lo tomara prestado pero no se enreda.

El anillo Blood Crystal (Cristal de sangre)! De verdad amo los detalles de ésta pieza.

De hecho temía que fuera muy grande para mi mano, cuando lo tomé prestado, pero suelo utilizar joyería dramática y me gusta usarlo en ocasiones especiales.

En el interior se puede ver un pequeño emblema de cruz!

El lado inferior está abierto hacia la piel.

Estos son los aretes Guardian of Time (Guardián del tiempo). También están disponibles como aretes de clip. Me sorprendió que se venden individualmente, no como par. Fue un shock para mí porque la mayoría de los aretes en USA se venden como par. Tuve que contactar a Artemis Classic para agregar otro. Son murciélagos durmientes con ojos rojos que se asoman en un diseño lindo pero sutil.

Este es mi par, no son adorables? El poste es una rosa de plata naturalmente. Hay un cristal rojo encima de la cabeza del murciélago “plateado ahumado”. Desde abajo parece una gema elegantemente colocada, pero generalmente sirve para que entre más luz en el centro de la gema y se refleje hacia los lados. Desde el ángulo que normalmente se ven, sólo se aprecian las pequeñas aberturas a los lados que parecen ser los ojos rojos brillantes de un murciélago durmiendo. Cuando se usan los aretes representan murciélagos colgados de cabeza con sus alas envolviéndolos, todavía viendo al mundo con sus ojos de color rubí.

De todas las piezas, ésta es de la que quería buenas fotos antes de comprarla.

Yo coso y hago vestuario y diseño de modas, así que realmente quería ver detalles de la parte trasera y de cómo se podía unir a la tela.

Espero que estas fotos adicionales les ayuden a los que quieran usarlos para un diseño o un cosplay.

Esto es lo que más quería ver! La parte de atrás del botón tiene una presilla muy fuerte de metal. También tiene agujeros alrededor así que se puede asegurar muy bien si se usa como adorno y no de manera funcional.

Por supuesto si lo coses de todos esos agujeros extra no lo podrás utilizar como dispositivo para abrir. Mi idea por ejemplo, es ponerlo en una gargantilla de encaje en vez de usarlo como botón usando hilo transparente.

Traté de fotografiar el broche en mi chaqueta. Es nuevo, brillante y de verdad atrapa la luz así que es difícil de conseguir una buena imagen. De todas las piezas que tengo de Symphony of the Vampire, este pin ha recibido la mayor cantidad de elogios! La parte de abajo es un resorte y me tomó algo de tiempo entenderlo. De hecho doblé un poco el pin en el proceso  seguía pensando que se desenroscaba, pero no…jajaja… Creo que ahora ya encontró un hogar permanente en ésta chaqueta.

Jewelry Review- Artemis Classic x KAMIJO Heart Collection

I placed my order the second week the jewelry orders were announced. It was difficult to decide which items to purchase, but ultimately I went with red and silver themes. Some of these items were purchased for another fan (we did a group order) but they agreed to allow me to use the photographs here and try/wear on the jewelry. It was difficult waiting the 3 months for all the pieces to be made and the orders processed. It was also nerve wracking that they had to be shipped during the Christmas rush time in the US when so many items can be lost.

The packaging is outstanding! Most items arrived in coffin shaped boxes. A few items arrived in pouches which I will also show. Included with each piece was a black gift bag labeled with Artemis Classic, in case you were giving the items to someone else. The shipment even included a large bag to put all the smaller bags in. This resulted in a large package for a few tiny items. They also included a catalogue of the other Artemis Classic designs and collaborations. The one I received you can see has Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation on the cover.

The boxes have velour covered padding with a special slot for displaying the rings like this.
This is especially nice if you want to display the jewelry in glass box or china cabinet!
This is the Thorn ring- I’ll give more details about it later.

Also included with each item was pedigree card (as if each item is alive and self aware) signed by KAMIJO for each piece. I have a funny story to relate about this item.

These are the pouches that come with the button and the Emblem Brooch.

This is the Crystal of Aestheticism pendant. It did not include a chain so I wear it with either with the faceted onyx Neck Bite Chain, that I bought for the Cross Emblem, or the chain that came with my Versailles Emblem pendant. You can of course wear it with any silver chain or a ribbon. I bought this to wear to work as it nice enough for daily use. The Emblem Cross confused one of my patients who asked if it was a “Satanic cross” so I decided to stop wearing it to work.

My funny story will probably not make much sense outside of the English language. I showed the pendant to a family member and noted it was called the “Crystal of Aestheticism”. They misheard me to say “Crystal of Athleticism” and asked if it was supposed to make me jump higher or run faster! I replied no, it was “Aestheticism” they again misunderstood as “Asceticism”. I thought “No, no, wrong word again!” *Asceticism means a “lifestyle characterized by abstinence from worldly pleasures” – kind of the opposite of what this luxurious and beautifully rococo jewelry is intended for.

Note here the Rose Croix bracelet has a closing mechanism using that heart loop on the end. I was concerned about the clasp on this. The end fastens by slipping it through the heart shaped loop on the end. I was worried it might come off during movement, but I have tested by wearing it out a lot and also to a club dancing for several hours. It apparently cannot come off accidentally, at least not easily. I am impressed!

Here is a close-up of the Rose Croix bracelet- the light really catches on the stones.

The design makes your wrist look as if it has been bitten!

This is the Thorn ring.

Much to my surprise this ring is “open”!

It is not a complete circle so it is slightly adjustable in size.

It really does look like rose stems with thorns bent around a finger.

For comparison, I took a photo of it next to my Versailles Rose ring. The scroll work with the stems and thorns makes it larger and is kind of hook shaped. I was worried this would catch on my hair and clothes when I borrowed it but it does not.

The Blood Crystal Ring! I really love the details on this piece.

I was actually afraid this might be too large for my hand, when I borrowed it, but I tend to wear dramatic jewelry and I love wearing it for special occasions.

One the inside you can see a tiny Emblem Cross!

The underneath side is open to the skin.

These are the Guardian of Time pierced earrings. They are also available as clip on earrings. I was surprised to learn they are sold individually not as a pair. This was a shock to me as here in the US most earrings are sold as a pair. I had to contact Artemis Classic to add a second one. These are sleeping bats with red eyes that peek out from a very cute but subtle design.

My pair, aren’t they just adorable? The post is, naturally, a silver rose. There is a red crystal on the top of the “smoked silver” bat’s head.

From the bottom this appears like an elegant set gem, but usually serves only to permit more light to enter the center of the gem where it reflects out the sides.

From the angle normally viewed one sees only the small side openings that appear to be glowing red eyes of a sleeping bat. The earrings when worn portray upside down hanging bats with wings enfolded around themselves, yet looking out at the world with ruby colored eyes.

Of all these items, this is the one I most wanted really good photos of before purchasing.
I sew and do both costuming and fashion design, so I really wanted to see details of the back and how this could be attached to fabric.
I hope these additional photos help anyone who wants to use them for a design or cosplay.

This is what I most wanted to see! The back side of the button has a very strong metal fastening loop. There are also holes all around it so it can be attached very securely if attached for adornment rather than a functional button.

Of course if you sew it with those extra holes you cannot use it as an opening device. My idea, for example, is to attach it to a lace choker rather than use it as a button using transparent thread.

I tried to photograph the brooch on my jacket. It’s new, shiny and really catches the light so it’s hard to get a good image. Of all my Symphony of the Vampire pieces this little pin has gotten the most compliments! The bottom piece is actually spring loaded and took me awhile to figure it out. Actually slightly bent the pin the process :( I kept thinking it unscrewed off but no…hahaha…I think it’s found a permanent home of this jacket now.
